Sustainability
Statement.
Sustainability is at the core of our business, and where possible we will always strive to reuse, recycle and preserve materials throughout every process of manufacturing. Design and manufacturing goods inherently produces waste, however it is what we choose to do with this waste that can positively or negatively affect our environment. At Made to Matter we value of all materials and tools used in our workshop, which ensures that we maximize their potential lifespan.
As de-foresting and the amount of furniture grade timbers continues to decrease, we are very selective with how we use timber, and where possible use Australian plantation timbers along with veneer and particle board over solid timber. We also offer recycled materials such as timber and plastic based products to help contribute to a circular economy. For any further questions regarding sustainability for your project please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Recycling Matters.
We are often left with odd sized offcuts and pieces that we can’t use after a job is completed. To better manage our waste we use reDirect Recycling’s service which allow us to recycle all of our melamine particle board, plywood, solid wood and woodchips.
These materials are sent back to their facilities where they are reprocessed and used as feedstock into new particle board. To complete the C2C system, we can then use this recycled particle board for future jobs, thus completing the circle.
